This school was underperforming and is now a performing plus school. It was a 'bully' school and is now a kid safe and friendly school. Last year this school had a new principal. This principal and staff have really turned the school into a wonderful small-home town school with small classes and concern for each individual student. The principal wants the school to become an excelling school. I am grateful that my children attend this school.

	Principal's Message


	I'm excited to be here at Avalon! The feeling at Avalon is one of a small school. The small class sizes will allow the teachers an opportunity to impact the learning of our students. This year we are "raising the bar". Our reading program has already seen fantastic reading success, we will continue that success while raising our expectations in math and writing. This year we'll be working hard to get EVERYONE involved . I'll be looking at innovative ways to open communication between teachers and parents. I'm a firm believer that when our students see that their teacher and parents are actively interested in their education they will be excited about their achievements at school.
