STUDENT CHECK OUT
For their protection, students are not allowed to leave campus without being released
through the school office. Parents must sign students out of the office if the student
must leave during the day. If someone other than parent or legal guardian will be checking out a student, please call and inform the office.

SCHOOL VISITS
We encourage parents to come to school frequently to visit their student's classroom and be actively involved by volunteering. For safety reasons, we ask all visitors to report to the office first. This is especially important if you plan to observe your student's class for any length of time. While on campus, we expect parents to adhere to the same standards of behavior as that of the students and dress appropriately. Avalon Elementary does NOT allow student visitors unaccompanied by their parent.

CLOSED CAMPUS
The parking lot is on campus. Students are not allowed in the parking lot. Students may not leave the campus for lunch unless the parent has signed them out. If this
policy is not followed, students will receive disciplinary consequences.

BUSSING
Bussing is available to and from school within a three to five-mile radius. The busses will run much like city busses with stops being at major cross streets closest to our registered students.

SCHOOL BUS RULES
Students riding school busses or waiting for a school bus are subject to
school rules and are under the authority of the bus driver.

Students and their parents/guardians will be requested to read and sign the bus

regulations and safety rules.

By signing, the student and parent/guardians acknowledge the bus regulations and warning of all safety rules.  Students violating the school's code of conduct, bus regulation and safety rules, or direction of the bus driver may forfeit the privilege of riding the bus.

Depending on the violation or consistency in violations, the student can and will lose bus privilege for the remainder of the school year.

Students must have written permission of their parent guardian to leave the bus at other than their regular stop.
