DISCIPLINARY REFERRALS Avalon Elementary uses a three-level disciplinary referral.
Each level has corresponding demerit points. When a total of seven demerit points are accrued, the student is in jeopardy of being suspended on a long-term basis for the remainder of the year.
Students who have been long-term suspended will need to petition the School Board for re-admittance regardless of the school year that the suspension was involved.
Long-term suspended students may not attend any school-sponsored activities or be on campus during school hours.
If a student is suspended, making up work is upon the discretion of the administrator and the classroom teacher.
